I
woke up, seeing a dry yet cloudy day,
and headed off to the venue with a smile, (as the last 8 days had been wet)
most of the helpers arrived between 09.00-09.30, well, those who set their
alarm!!!!!!!
Concours entrants starting arriving just after 10.00, it was great to see
some arrive from Devon, and others from Hants and Wilts.... + two new
R26er's to meet and greet ......
Chat and cleaning were of the order till 12.30, then just a gentle dust off.
Entry
to the R26 display area and grounds was £7
per car, once
parked up, Porsche owners and their family's enjoyed the cars, the houses
gardens, as well as each others company. Some enjoyed lunch by their car or
in the Stable Cafe, while having enjoyed the extensive gardens, grounds and
walks.
During the day, many people who had come to see the house, also walked down
to our display of cars, learning from the varied owners, their Porsche model
and differing ownership stories. Also enjoying the three cars PCB had on
display, as well as watching Paul Roff demonstrating paintless dent
removal. During the day we also enjoyed having a slice of cake, that Maria
had kindly provided,
all home made by her own fair hands,
we also put our
"glossy black" concours stands to use for the 1st time, ... stunning .......
Our family day was supported by
Porsche Centre Bournemouth,
Marque 21, Swissvax and Paul
Roff. They all helped support our raffle, donating prizes along with many
R26 members. Louise and Martin from PCB, and Martins wife and daughter
joined Tim and Lisa from M21 in judging some of the many cars competing in
our concours classes, see placing's below.

Louise from PCB kindly assisted by
presenting the concours 1st, 2nd and 3rd place trophy's.
Straight after the awards we held a stunning raffle,
I know several ladies, and the odd!!!! guy, wanting to win one of the lovely
Porsche teddy's Ruth had kindly donated,
I was so pleased to see they all went to
good homes.
Through the raffle, we raised £241.00 for the
Dorset and Somerset Air Ambulance
So, to summarise, the day was a
total success..... well done to all who attended, and special R26 hugs to
all who helped out, THANK YOU................ |
