New Porsche 911 revealed Latest generation of 911 arrives at Porsche Centre Bournemouth. Forty-one years ago to the week since Porsche launched the first 911 prototype at the 1963 Frankfurt show, Porsche Centre Bournemouth celebrated the arrival of the latest 911. This was one of many 911 launch events taking place throughout the week on consecutive evenings at all Porsche Centres across the UK. With over 280 911(997) owners, depositors and prospective customers braving the torrential rain on Friday evening, a fleet of Porsche Cayenne’s ferried customers to and from The Dormy Hotel, who kindly provided overflow car parking facilities together with a full array of superb hospitality over the weekend. A joint Showroom and Porsche 911 (997) launch was continued on the Saturday and Sunday for all existing customers with an open invitation to the Hampshire, Dorset and Wiltshire Porsche Car Club owners, with over 600 people visiting over the weekend generating a substantial number of sales.
From
1963 to 2004 Andy Goss, Managing Director of Porsche Cars Great Britain who officially opened the new facilities by presenting the centre with a commemorative ceramic brake disc commented, “One of the many remarkable things about this car is the extent to which the purity of the original concept remains…….. Uniquely the 911 remains a driver’s car and the only genuine everyday Supercar”.
