Return To Car Show Selection

The venue was the magnificent grounds of a Dorset PCGB member’s house. At the front of the of the house the local Porsche dealership kindly displayed a Boxster and a Carrera 4. Two of their staff were on hand to answer and questions about the models on show and Porsche in general.

The local Porsche club secretary had done a lot of work with the venues owner to prepare the display area. He also took time bringing items for sale from the PCGB head office, members could buy gifts and clothing from a prepared shop area.

As well as looking at the cars, the day was a great opportunity to meet the members of the local club as well as any Porsche owners who chose to attend from other regions. Dave Bignell had travelled from Bristol and was rewarded for his troubles with a prize for his work and dedication to his gleaming Guards Red 944 S2 Cabriolet.

During the day everyone took the time to share their experiences of Porsche and cars in general. Members families enjoyed the club meeting while dad (in general) talked his friends stupid about cars and the preparation involved for the event.

This was my introduction to Porsche Shows and I was totally hooked. Everyone had a laugh at each others attempt to polish and clean frantically before judging. We shared in the experience of the day and all that had gone into it.

The highlight was the awards at the end when all gathered and cheered the winners of the event. A great light-hearted day was had, no airs or graces, just fun.

Roll on next years.
